Over the years I have struggled with combination and sensitive skin. Combination skin is when you have oily skin in some areas, typically your forehead, hairline, and chin, and dry in others. This can make it difficult in choosing the right product to combat blemishes, without causing overly dry skin. I was in this boat until about five years ago, when I discovered two miracle products. Even better, these two miraculous products, gain bonus point for an endless number of syas to use them!
Tea Tree Oil
When my roommate moved out of my apartment several Years ago, she left behind a full bottle of tea tree oil behind. Naturally curious, I googled what it was used for. Turns out, it was a little miracle in a bottle. Tea tree oil, like many other essential oils, can be used for an array of health and beauty factors. It can be used on the scalp to prevent dandruff and help with hair growth, on dog and cat kennels and bedding to prevent fleas, and even treat mild skin cuts and rashes. Tea Tree Oil is most known for its healing powers to acne prone skin. It was particularly useful to me, because while it treats blemishes and inperfections, rather than dehydrating as most products tend to do, it hydrates the skin while also reducing redness, and minimizing pores. I use it after every face wash, as a spot treatment for pesky blemishes, and before applying makeup. If you have not used it before, tea tree oil has a strong smell, and while I like it, many my not find the smell pleasant. I would also recommend to dilute the oil with water, before applying to your face, until you know how your skin reacts to the product. It’s also important that you do not ingest this product and keep it out of children’s reach. While it is an external miracle worker, it is toxic to the internal organs of ingested.
Witch’s Hazel
So I have been religiously using tea tree oil for about 6 years now, and for the last two years, I have added Witch’s Hazel to my beauty regime. I most recently was surprised when my hospital, after the birth of my second child, gave me Witch’s Hazel pads for postpartum treatment (sooooooo soothing). In addition, I use it to wash my face to prevent acne and help combat oiliness during the summer. It also is great to treat ingrown hairs, eczema, insect bites, razor burn, and even excess sweating. The list goes on and on.
Now I have been using them as two separate products over the years, but last summer found a cool little two in one product that has been awesome for my skin (+ my brows have been thanking me for the use too)! The product is by Medic 55, and can be purchased here on Amazon. Medic 55 has a ton of other skincare products that I look forward to trying, and will review on in the future!
This blog contains Amazin affiliate links, that allow me to gain a percentage of you’re purchase, at no additional cost to you. I would never recommend a product I myself have not found tried and true. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
